WHY is Quanta Coffee?
Quanta started as an experiment. We wanted to know what would happen when all the ubiquitous concessions were taken away from a coffee menu, distilling the undying love baristas have for their craft and giving them the power to share the version of the coffee industry they strive for. No cold foam, no sprinkles, just passion-driven ideas and a science-based approach to beverage creation.
The initial focus was on espresso, and pushing the boundaries of what most consider to be the hardline definition of what espresso is and can be, while featuring roasters from around the world, whose work with producers highlighted what the industry truly has to offer.
Now we’re focusing on a new frontier: roasting. We think we have a lot to say concerning the importance of roast profiling’s role in accentuating terroir and processing, and we’re excited to test, experiment, and iterate until we understand even more.
Mateo has roasted at Pair Cupworks since 2023, training under internationally acclaimed roaster Kimhak Em, and has competed in both brewing and latte art competitions on a regional/national level.
